World Down Syndrome Day Cupcakes

Bright, cheerfully mismatched cupcakes for World Down Syndrome Day events on 21 March — school celebrations, workplace morning teas and community gatherings. Many events mark the day with odd socks, and I like taking that idea into buttercream: deliberately mismatched colour pairings across the box. Baked to order in Redland Bay. I'm an independent baker with no affiliation to any Down syndrome organisation.

Details at a glance

Mismatched on purpose

Instead of one uniform design, I pair colours that shouldn't quite go together — stripes against dots, brights against pastels — so the box has the same cheerful odd-socks energy the day is known for. Every cupcake is still made to the same standard; only the styling varies.

Inclusive by format as well as design

Where the event includes people with different dietary needs, I'll usually recommend building the order so gluten free options look the same as everything else rather than obviously separate — same size, same styling, just clearly labelled boxes for whoever is serving.

Available flavours

Choose from my full cupcake menu: Vanilla, Chocolate (also available Gluten Free), Caramel, Red Velvet, Cookies & Cream and Funfetti. Additional flavours are available on request, and splitting an order across two or three flavours usually suits a shared table best.

Sizes and box options

Standard cupcakes come in boxes of 6, 12 or 24, or as larger sets for bigger events. Mini cupcakes stretch a headcount further.

Gluten Free availability

Gluten Free is available across Vanilla and Chocolate. My home-based studio also handles gluten — please review my Dietary Information before ordering if anyone attending has a serious gluten intolerance.

How ordering works

Send through your date, headcount, event colours and any inspiration. I'll reply with a design proposal and quote, and orders are secured with a deposit once the design is approved. Every request includes a mandatory Dietary Acknowledgement.

Frequently asked questions

Please allow a minimum of 3 business days for smaller orders. Larger or fully themed orders benefit from 2–4 weeks' notice, and awareness dates that fall in busy months book out earlier.
